What is a zine?
A zine is a fan-made, unofficial, book that contains any of the following; art, stories, comics, or photos based around a series, theme, or ship.

Once Upon A Time is a zine that hopes to encapsulate the many fairytales, myths, legends, and folklore that can be found across the world. We are a Katsuki Bakugo/Izuku Midoriya focused zine.

We are a charity zine benefiting The Make a Wish Foundation.

Where can I apply?
Contributor applications will open on January 1st, 2024. Direct links will be posted on all of our social media.
What will contributors receive for participating in the zine?
All contributors will receive the PDF, digital merchandise, softcover zine, and any merchandise piece they created. Additional merchandise may be provided based on overall sales.
Does my piece need to be complete before I can apply?
No, creators will be given ample time to complete their pieces upon acceptance to the zine.
Do I need an idea to apply? Is my idea final?
We ask that applicants include a short proposal for their piece. However, application proposals are not final. We will confirm final proposals with the creators. Proposals will be used to narrow the candidate pool to ensure variety.
What is pinch hitting?
Pinch hitters are contributors who are able and willing to create pieces on accelerated schedules due to open space, drop outs, or other factors.
Will you ship internationally?
We will be shipping internationally to most countries. Due to shipping restrictions, some countries will not be possible. Such countries will be listed on all sale pages.

Sibby has worked as head moderator on four different zines, where she had multiple additional duties such as beta'ing, social media, shipping, and finances. Once Upon a Time is a favorite theme of hers, and she is excited to bring it to the MHA fandom.

☆ We will be accepting a total of 7 writers, merchandise artists, 7 spot artists, and between 24 and 48 page artists. We will be accepting a number of pinch hitters as well.☆ Contributors will receive a PDF, digital merchandise, a copy of any physical merchandise they create, and a softcover copy of the zine for their participation. Additional merchandise may be allocated depending on overall sales.☆ Contributors must be at least 18 years old to participate.
Artist - Merchandise
Applicants will be evaluated on composition, color, how suitable their style is for merchandise, and how they use all these elements to fit the theme of the zine.☆ All templates will be available via Discord.
Artist - Page
Applicants will be evaluated on artistic fundamentals, composition, use of color, and how they use all these elements to fit the theme of the zine.SpecsSize single page (5.8" x 8.3") or double page spread (11.6" x 8.3")

Artist - Story
Applicants will be evaluated on artistic fundamentals, composition, use of color, and how they use all these elements to fit the theme of the zine.Size single page (5.8" x 8.3") for full page art, or anything smaller for inset art

File Format PNG, PSD, PDF☆ Artists will be paired with writers when final story pitches are approved to provide maximum time for creation.☆ Will be asked to create a unique story divider (the separation between scenes in a story) inspired by the story being written.☆ Will be asked to create one (1) piece of art per two (2) written pages. For example, for a six (6) page story will require three (3) unique pieces of art. This can be inset with no backgrounds, or full page art.
Beta
Applicants will be evaluated on basic grammar, spelling, flow, characterization, and how they communicate that to a writer.☆ Will work in pairs to evaluate each written piece in a minimum week turnaround.☆ Will offer SPAG corrections and suggestions for flow, characterization, theme, etc.
Writer
Applicants will be evaluated on story flow, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and the ability to tell a captivating story within a certain number of words.☆ Work must be a unique source of inspiration compared to all other stories featured in the zine.☆ There is a six (6) page limit on stories (A5 format), including art. We are willing to work with writers on these limitations where it makes sense.☆ Work must be SFW.☆ All writers will be paired with an artist to create accompanying artwork.☆ Will be asked to provide a link to the writing doc, including an outline for the story, to allow ample creation time for artists.
